Being in love with music as long as she can remember, Molly Luhta spent many years cultivating her passion and is now a lyric soprano. Her performances have taken her across Canada in roles such as Countess Almaviva (The Marriage of Figaro-SOLT), Alice Ford (Falstaff-UWOpera), Beth March (Little Women-MToT), and Mrs. Webb (Our Town-NUOVA). Molly performs regularly in concerts as a soprano soloist and in solo recitals. She recently adjudicated the online voice classes for the 2021 Sudbury Kiwanis Music Festival, as well as several voice and composition classes for the 2020 CFMTA's Canada Music Week Festival. In 2019, she debuted "Clear Shining Moment", a new work written for her by Canadian composer Martha Hill-Duncan, which can now be found in RCM's Voice Level 8 Repertoire. Her past teachers include Maria Pellegrini, Jackie Short, and Carol-Lynn Reifel, performances in masterclasses with Adrienne Pieczonka and Edith Wiens, and working with directors Brian Deedrick, Guillermo Silva-Marin, and Michael Cavanagh. In June 2016, she won 1st Place in Voice 26 Years at the National Canadian Music Competition. She holds a M.Mus in Voice Literature and Performance from Western University, as well as B.Ed and B.Mus from Queen’s University.

Molly permanently resides in Kingston, ON, where she enjoys practicing yoga, tending to her garden, watching HGTV, and spending time at home with her family.
